Reed Hastings, co-founder of the streaming giant Netflix, has just donated seven million dollars – approximately 75 million Swedish kronor – to Kamala Harris' presidential campaign, according to Variety.
The sum is the largest that Hastings has ever donated, confirms Variety.
After a depressing debate, we're back in the game, said Reed in an interview with The Information regarding the donation.
Hastings, who was also previously CEO of Netflix, was one of many Hollywood profiles who recently went out and criticized President Joe Biden and asked him to step aside ahead of the autumn election against Donald Trump.
On Monday, Hastings posted on X and wrote "Congratulations to Kamala Harris, now it's time to win".
Since Biden chose to abandon his ambitions for the presidency after 2024 and gave his support to his vice president, Harris has gathered around 130 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 1,400 million kronor.
