The Dutch data protection authority has issued a fine against Netflix of 4.75 million euros, equivalent to over 54 million Swedish kronor.
According to the authority, the decision concerns the streaming giant's handling of users' personal data.
"Netflix did not provide its customers with sufficient information about what the company does with their personal data between 2018 and 2020", it writes in a statement.
The data protection authority further states that the streaming giant has updated its information to users since then.
Netflix has appealed the decision, writes the news agency AP.
