According to the Kremlin's spokesperson Dmitrij Peskov, Russia's President Vladimir Putin does not plan to congratulate Trump on the election because the USA is an "unfriendly country". Instead, they will judge Trump based on his actions.
"We will draw conclusions based on concrete steps and concrete words", says Peskov.
However, several European countries such as Norway, Spain, Italy, and Germany have congratulated Donald Trump on his victory.
France's President Emmanuel Macron writes on X that he is ready to work together "with respect and ambition" and "for increased peace and increased prosperity".
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also congratulates Trump and calls it a "huge victory".
"Your historic return to the White House marks a new beginning for America and a powerful re-establishment of the great alliance between Israel and America", says Netanyahu in a statement.
Peace through strength
On X, Ukraine's President Volodmyr Zelenskyj congratulates Trump on his impressive victory and says he looks forward to discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the USA,
"I appreciate President Trump's commitment to the strategy of 'peace through strength' in global issues. This is precisely the principle that can bring a just peace in Ukraine closer in practice."
The UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer looks forward to cooperating with Trump in the future, he says in a statement.
"As closest allies, we stand side by side in defending our common values of freedom, democracy, and enterprise".
"Historic win"
NATO's Secretary-General Mark Rutte congratulates Trump on his victory and says that his return to power will keep the alliance strong.
"His leadership will again be the key to keeping our alliance strong. I look forward to working with him again to promote peace through strength through NATO", says Rutte in a statement.
India's leader Narendra Modi also congratulates Trump on the "historic win".
"Heartfelt congratulations, my friend Donald Trump, on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our cooperation", he writes on X.
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also refers to Donald Trump as "his friend" and says he hopes that global crises and wars can now come to an end.
