It was in the beginning of September that the convoy Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) two nights in a row reported that they had been attacked by drones. Fires broke out on the deck after something was dropped from the air.
According to CBS sources, who are said to work within the American intelligence service, drones are said to have been sent from an Israeli submarine to drop incendiary devices on the ships that were then anchored outside a harbor in Tunisia.
A few weeks after the drone attack, GSF reported that they had been attacked again, whereupon Italy and Spain sent warships to protect the convoy.
GSF intended to sail to the Gaza Strip with emergency aid and thus break the Israeli blockade of the area.
This week, the convoy was stopped by the Israeli military, who took the hundreds of activists to Israel. The ten Swedes who were on the convoy have been taken to the desert prison Ketziot, something that has been confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Israel has repeatedly accused GSF of being a terror-linked "jihad initiative" that serves the Hamas agenda. The accusations come after some of the representatives of GSF's steering group have been seen in pictures together with representatives of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), all of which are classified as terrorist organizations by the US and the EU.
