The Swiss food giant Nestlé is firing its CEO Laurent Freixe. This after it emerged that he had secretly had a romantic affair with a subordinate.
Nestlé announces in a statement that Laurent Freixe will leave as CEO with immediate effect and that it follows an internal investigation where the romance with "a direct subordinate" was discovered. The incident "violated Nestlé's code of conduct", the company announces in a press release.
As new CEO of Nestlé, Philipp Navratil, former CEO of Nestlé-owned Nespresso, has been appointed.
