The dispute is about the temporary building permit that Trädgården has had since 2009. The area under Skanstulls Bridge in Stockholm is actually for port traffic, and three neighbours took action when they appealed the club's building permit to the County Administrative Board, which decided to demolish it.
The decision was then appealed to the Land and Environmental Court, which also said no. And today came the next setback for the nightclub when the Land and Environmental Court announced that it will not review the decision. Despite that, hope lives on with Trädgården's CEO, Jon Birgne.
It's sad, but we hope that the politicians will change the detailed plan so that we can continue, he says.
The City of Stockholm has signed a temporary agreement with Trädgården until 2027 and is investigating the possibility of changing the detailed plan permanently.
