The task came from Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, on Monday.
In the big picture, we estimate that nearly 400,000 people have been displaced (from their homes) since the ceasefire collapsed, said Dujarric about the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Already earlier, around 2.4 million Gaza residents have been forced to leave their homes and often had to seek new dwellings on several occasions.
Survivors in Gaza are repeatedly forced to flee and are compelled to move to the dwindling areas that remain, where basic needs cannot be met.
On Monday, a joint statement was also issued by the children's rights organization Unicef, the food organization WFP, the coordination organization for humanitarian aid Ocha, and the World Health Organization, urging "world leaders to act – persistently, decisively, and quickly – to ensure that the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law are upheld".
The UN agencies stated in the joint statement that "we are witnessing war actions in Gaza that show a complete lack of respect for human life".
