Around 87,000 people were evacuated on Tuesday from an area in central Philippines after a volcano had a minor eruption.
The eruption from the Kanlaon volcano on the island of Negros, which occurred on Monday, did not cause any extensive damage, but the warning level was raised one step, which means that the likelihood of more explosive eruptions is higher.
The mass evacuations were carried out swiftly in the villages and communities located closest to Kanlaon's western and southern slopes.
