At least 89 people have become ill after eating Christmas dinner at a restaurant on Öland, writes Barometern.

On Thursday, several alarms were raised that people had become ill after visiting the Christmas table, according to the food unit at Mörbylånga Municipality.

Food inspector Katarina Proos Vedin says it is probably winter vomiting disease.

They have had over 3,000 guests. When we count people who have had symptoms or described cases, there are 89. Then there could always be more. She tells the newspaper.

The restaurant was closed over the weekend for cleaning but was able to reopen on Monday.
