He was selected first in the 2025 draft. Now Cooper Flagg has shown what he can do in the NBA. The 18-year-old accounted for a whopping 42 points in Dallas' 133-140 win over Utah – and made history.

Flagg is now the youngest player ever to score 40 or more points in a single game, breaking the record set by LA Lakers star LeBron James, who scored 37 points in a game in December 2003.

We didn't win, so it's hard for me to be happy about it, but of course it's big," says Flagg.

A lot has happened compared to how it was at the beginning of the season. I'm getting more and more comfortable and this is just the beginning.

Coach Jason Kidd:

The more time he has on the field, the more he sees, the better he gets. He showed it all tonight.
