Klintman has been placed on Detroit's so-called "waivers list" - the list of players teams are looking to move on from.
Another team can claim the Swede's contract within 48 hours, or the 23-year-old will become a free agent and can sign with any team.
Klintman was drafted in the second round of the 2024 draft, 37th overall. He has made 12 regular-season appearances this season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per game.
