NBA star Terry Rozier – teammate with Swede Pelle Larsson in Miami Heat – has been arrested suspected of involvement in a game fix, according to information to American media. Also Portland's head coach Chauncey Billups has been arrested, but for involvement in another case.

Miami lost their NBA premiere tonight, Swedish time, away against Orlando in Florida and according to information to ESPN the 31-year-old Rozier was arrested at the player hotel during Thursday morning.

AP also reports that the basketball player has been arrested. The news agency also states that the NBA club Portland's head coach Chauncey Billups has been arrested, but according to ABC News the investigation concerns illegal poker with ties to the mafia.

The illegal gaming scandal involving Terry Rozier will be investigated by the FBI and according to ESPN, the prosecution in New York and FBI director Kash Patel will hold a press conference at 16.00, Swedish time.

It has previously been reported that strange betting patterns were discovered before an NBA match in March 2023 when Rozier played for Charlotte Hornets. Then, betting related to Rozier's individual performance in the match against New Orleans was stopped. Rozier played only ten minutes before leaving the match and stated that it was due to a foot injury, writes ESPN.

Rozier's lawyer Jim Trusty has previously told ESPN that the basketball player has met with the basketball league NBA and representatives of the FBI on several occasions during 2023. The NBA then stated that some violations of the league's rules had not occurred.

Rozier sat on the bench during tonight's premiere, but got no playing time.
