Tuesday brought good news for Naval Group. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced that negotiations would begin with the company regarding the purchase of four frigates.
It is always very significant to have gained the trust of a new country, says Guillaume Weisrock.
It's not just about building and delivering a frigate, it's about building a joint long-term partnership.
The negotiations on the frigate deal are being handled by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. It is unclear how long the talks will take. Only when they are complete can an order be placed.
But I know that there is a clear intention to work quickly and efficiently, says Guillaume Weisrock.
France has previously ordered five frigates and Greece four from Naval Group, and deliveries have already begun.
The first frigate for Sweden will be delivered in 2030, and thereafter one frigate per year will be delivered.
Guillaume Weisrock is not worried that the schedule will be too tight.
"We have ample capacity and can deliver on time. Our production facility in Lorient is designed to build and deliver two frigates per year," he says.
