NATO Budget Deal May Boost EU-US Trade, Says EU Leader

That the European countries could agree with the US President Donald Trump at the NATO summit in The Hague, Costa calls a kind of "renewed promises" for the relationship across the Atlantic.

And now he believes in more.

- I would even say that it is a logical consequence that the agreement in NATO will have a positive effect on the trade negotiations, says Costa in an interview with the Portuguese news agency Lusa, on the occasion of him now having held his post for over half a year.

Costa hopes nonetheless for quick clarity on what will apply to future trade with the US.
