The national team captain of Latvia's biathlon team, Ilmars Bricis, is leaving after a conflict with veteran Andrejs Rastorgujevs during the World Championship in Lenzerheide, reports the Latvian news agency LETA, according to The Baltic Times.
Latvia's Olympic Committee confirms that a resignation application from Bricis, a former national team teammate of Rastorgujevs, has been received.
On Monday, 36-year-old Rastorgujevs stated in a Latvian TV interview that he and 54-year-old Bricis had gotten into a fight during the World Championship, which ended last week. The outgoing national team captain later confirmed to LETA that an incident had occurred.
