At 7 p.m. on Sunday, it was clear that a so-called national ice day had come and gone.

It had been below freezing throughout the country for a day.

This was reported by SVT, citing the channel's meteorologist Per Stenborg.

The last time Sweden had a national ice day was at the beginning of January 2024. Before that, it had been just over two years since the previous national ice day.
