The American presidency has formally decided to send 300 soldiers from the national guard to Chicago in the state of Illinois.

President (Donald) Trump will not turn a blind eye to the lawlessness that plagues American cities, says White House press spokesperson Abigail Jackson.

Thus, the government confirms the statement from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker earlier on Saturday to deploy the National Guard. According to Pritzker, the Department of Defense issued an ultimatum: Send in your troops, or we will do it.

Trump has been threatening for several weeks to send the National Guard to Chicago. Previously, he has, among other things, deployed them in the capital Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Memphis in order to combat crime and get control over the number of undocumented migrants.
