Nathalie Björn is said to have injured herself during training with Chelsea after returning to England after the latest national team training session with the Swedish women's football team in early December.
However, the club does not say anything about how long she is expected to be out.
"Chelsea can confirm that Nathalie Björn will be out of action for some time due to a hamstring injury. The 28-year-old returned to Cobham (Chelsea's training ground) following the national team training camp with Sweden, before unfortunately sustaining the injury in training," Chelsea wrote in a statement .
The London club, currently in second place in the Super League, further writes that the Swedish center back will now begin his rehabilitation.
Sweden begins the World Cup qualifiers away against Italy on March 3.
