The Premier League season was not even seven minutes old when Nottingham's midfielder Danilo injured himself badly at home against Bournemouth.
The Brazilian went up for a header duel with Antoine Semenyo in the midfield circle, but landed badly with his left foot. Teammates and the referee immediately called in the medical team, and the stretcher was set up as Danilo received treatment for nearly six minutes on the pitch.
In the end, he was carried off on a stretcher while the audience applauded. Danilo was taken to the hospital, and according to the news agency AP, the club reports that he has broken his foot.
Chris Wood gave the home team Nottingham the lead in the 23rd minute. The Swedish national team player Anthony Elanga started for Nottingham, but was substituted after 54 minutes.
From the bench, Elanga saw Semenyo equalize in the 86th minute to a final score of 1–1.
