Møller, starting number 45, lost control during a jump, spun backwards and landed hard on his back. His skis flew off and the 25-year-old slid down the slope.
The Norwegian carefully got up on his knees but then lay down again. Doctors were quickly on the scene and Møller was then taken on a stretcher to a helicopter for further travel to the hospital.
"He is doing relatively well and is receiving close follow-up from the hospital and from the ski association's medical team to rule out injuries after such a severe crash," says national team doctor Marc Strauss in a statement to NTB.
Swiss Marco Odermatt won the competition in Val Gardena, ahead of compatriot Franjo von Allmen and France's Dominik Paris.
Felix Monsén, Sweden's only speed skater in the World Cup, finished 39th, 1.54 behind Odermatt.
