Double wins in the return in Val Thorens last week – Sandra Näslund put the other skiers in their place right away in the ski cross World Cup premiere.

A new chance to reach the top of the podium awaits on Tuesday evening. Näslund was content with finishing third in tonight's qualifying in Arosa, beaten by Fanny Smith and Daniela Maier.

For the final, Näslund, who has two injury-plagued seasons behind her, will be accompanied by her national teammate Linnea Mobärg, who came in as the eighth fastest skater.

Uma Kruse Een came in 26th place but still advanced because more skaters than normal reach the final in Arosa, which will be decided under electric lights on Tuesday evening.

Brothers David and Erik Mobärg made it to the final without much trouble with a good seeding, fourth and eleventh in the qualifiers. Fredrik Nilsson ended up in 31st place while Måns Abersten came in 60th place.

All men in the qualifiers also participate in the final.

Canadian Reece Howden was fastest in qualifying.

Corrected version: In a previous version, the wrong number of skaters for the final was stated.
