The film is based on the novel "My Uncle the Wizard" in C.S. Lewis's fantasy series about Narnia.
In addition to child actors David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell, the cast also includes Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep. Greta Gerwig, who directed "Barbie" and "Lady Bird," is directing.
Among the film's backers is Netflix, which has chosen to release the film in theaters barely two months before it premieres on the streaming service on April 2.
