The information about the attacks comes from the separatist movement Arakan Army (AA), which says that an important bridge in the city of Kyauktaw was attacked, in addition to the market.
The attacks were carried out in the middle of the day in the Rakhine region (formerly Arakan), one of the most vulnerable and conflict-affected states in Myanmar since the military seized power in a 2021 coup.
