Tesla founder Elon Musk announced on Wednesday that he is leaving politics, after having been one of Donald Trump's most important allies on the way to the presidency. Musk donated nearly three billion kronor to the campaign and attended several major political meetings during 2024.
According to sources close to Musk, who were close to Musk, it was during the same period that the tech billionaire consumed so much ketamine that it began to affect his bladder - a side effect of chronic abuse. Ketamine is an anesthetic for horses used to treat depression. Musk has previously admitted to taking the preparation, but then said it was about "a small dose" that he would get prescribed every other week.
But according to New York Times sources, it was about an almost daily intake during parts of 2024.
X-owner Musk is also said to have taken the party drug ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and ADHD medication Adderall, which contains amphetamine.
Elon Musk and his lawyer have not commented on the allegations. At a press conference on Friday, Musk was asked about the New York Times reporting. Musk questioned the newspaper's credibility and told the reporter to "move on".
The White House has also declined to comment on the allegations.
