Donald Trump has signed an order giving the White House unit Doge even more power, reports Axios.
The new order urges authorities to collaborate with a Doge chief to review contracts and grants – and cut back where the Elon Musk-led Doge deems it suitable.
The authorities are also urged to register every payment and write a brief "justification" for each payment, writes Axios.
In Doge's new mandate, it also includes reviewing and identifying federally owned properties that are not needed and can be disposed of.
