The company has so far only given clues in the form of short videos on X where only the car headlights and what appears to be a spinning wheel are visible. However, sources to the news agency Bloomberg state that during the day, California time, the new model will be presented.
For a longer period, however, it has been speculated that Elon Musk and Tesla want to launch a cheaper variant, among other things to compensate for withdrawn support regarding electric car purchases on the important US market, where buyers previously could get $7,500 in government bonus. The sources state that it is a variant of the bestseller Model Y, where some of the most exclusive material choices have now been removed to keep production costs down.
The rumors made the stock rise during yesterday's trading, and the Tesla stock is one of the big winners in connection with the price increase that has characterized the US stock exchanges recently. During the last half year, it is up 94 percent, and has since the year's low in May doubled its value.
