Elon Musk has announced that his new AI chip factory will be located in Austin, Texas. The project, called Terafab, is a response to what he says is a semiconductor industry that is too slow to develop the necessary chips.
The factory, a joint project between Tesla and SpaceX, is intended to produce two variants that will, among other things, be used in Musk's self-driving taxis and in the development of humanoid robots.
