Elon Musk sued Altman, Brockman, OpenAI, and Microsoft in 2024, alleging they had violated OpenAI's bylaws by focusing too much on making a profit.
On Monday, a federal jury in the United States ruled that Musk waited too long to sue the company, its founders and its co-owner, Microsoft, and that the events underlying the allegations are therefore time-barred.
Elon Musk helped start OpenAI in 2015 but left the board three years later, CNBC reported.
Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, OpenAI has been an industry leader in AI development.
