All children have the right to attend school – that will be this year's theme for "Musikhjälpen".

”Musikhjälpen” is broadcast this year from Stora torget in Karlstad between December 1 and 7. It will be the first time the city is visited by the event, which since 2008 has collected money for charity.

Education is not a matter of course for 234 million children and young people in countries affected by disasters and wars. Over 85 million children do not attend school at all, according to Radiohjälpen.

”School attendance is more than just education for a child in war and conflict, for example in Gaza, Ukraine or Sudan. School contributes to both a safer everyday life, and a more secure future. When children are educated, the entire society benefits”, says Radiohjälpen's Secretary General Kristina Henschen in a press release.

The money goes, among other things, to creating temporary classrooms for children on the run and to particularly vulnerable groups in crises, for example children with disabilities.
