The Music Alliance offers professional freelance musicians a form of employment and contributes to skills development and other activities for the independent music scene.

But the state budget has remained unchanged since 2021, while the costs of salaries and other activities have increased. In recent years, these costs have been covered with savings - “a solution that is not sustainable in the long term,” the alliance writes in a press release.

“It is a difficult decision to have to reduce the number of musician jobs, and we are well aware of what it means for those affected,” says Osiel Ibáñez, CEO of Musikalliansen.
