The Musicians' Union demands that Spotify immediately introduce transparency in the decision-making process regarding artificial streaming.

The Musicians' Union views with concern an escalating trend where artists have their music removed from Spotify, the union writes in a press release.

Some musicians are also fined with reference to so-called artificial streaming or copyright infringement, the union believes and emphasizes that what causes the most concern is the lack of transparency and legal certainty in the handling of the matter.

”Spotify provides no concrete evidence, refuses to show where or how the streaming has taken place, and does not allow the artist to contest the decision. Instead, it is the accused artist who must prove their innocence – an impossible task when the information required to do so is kept secret”.
