Shapiro, who devoted himself to hard rock and metal bands, was involved in founding the agency Sound Talent Group. In addition to Shapiro himself, the agency had two more employees on board the plane, a Cessna, owned by Dave Shapiro himself who was also a pilot.
Shapiro devoted great effort to independent musicians and also helped Billboard discover new music talents. Besides music, flying was his great passion, reports ABC. He opened a branch office for his music agency in a hangar in San Diego and also offered flights in the area.
On board the crashed plane was also Daniel Williams, until 2016 drummer in the metal band The Devil Wears Prada. The band expresses its sorrow on Instagram.
"Lacking words. We owe you everything. Love you forever", writes the band.
Six people were on board the plane and none of them are believed to have survived. Several houses caught fire in the crash. Eight people were taken to hospital for treatment, but not with life-threatening injuries.
