Shapiro, devoted to hard rock and metal bands, co-founded the agency Sound Talent Group. Apart from Shapiro, the agency had two more employees on board the plane, a Cessna, owned by Dave Shapiro himself, who was also the pilot.
Shapiro devoted great effort to independent musicians and also helped Billboard discover new talents. Besides music, flying was his great passion, reports ABC. He opened a branch office for his music agency in a hangar in San Diego and also offered flights in the area.
On board the crashed plane was Daniel Williams, until 2016 drummer in the metal band The Devil Wears Prada. The band expresses its sorrow on Instagram.
"Lacking words. We owe you everything. Love you forever", writes the band.
Six people were on the plane and none of them are believed to have survived. During the crash, several houses caught fire. Eight people were taken to hospital for treatment, but not with life-threatening injuries.
