The Australian woman who was convicted of murder after she invited relatives to beef Wellington with poisonous mushrooms is going to appeal her verdict, her defender states on Thursday.

The woman caused great attention worldwide after serving a toxic meal to her ex-husband's parents, aunt and uncle at a lunch in her home in 2023.

The menu included beef Wellington - baked beef fillet with mushroom filling. But instead of champignons, the filling consisted of sneaky death cap, one of the world's most toxic mushrooms.

Three of the people did not survive the poisoning. One of them survived thanks to a liver transplant. In that case, the woman was convicted of attempted murder.

The woman is sentenced to life imprisonment. She has denied the crime in court and claimed that it was an accident.
