Andy Murray will play in the first round of Wimbledon tennis. This is clear from Friday's draw of the men's singles tournament, where the 115th-ranked Briton was drawn against the 38th-ranked Czech Tomas Machac.
The news comes after a week where media reports were contradictory about whether the 37-year-old veteran Murray, who won Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016, would play in the Grand Slam tournament or not after a recent back operation.
Sweden's number one Elias Ymer, who qualified for the main tournament, has just like Murray received a tough draw in the first round. The 206th-ranked Ymer will face the 29th-ranked Briton Jack Draper.
