The Argentine national team stars Ángel Di María and Leandro Paredes are among a dozen suspects in a new alleged match-fixing scandal linked to current and former players in Serie A football.
Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Fagioli, who were both previously banned for violating betting rules, are also found in the investigation led by prosecutors in Milan, as reported by news agencies Ansa and AGI.
Tonali and Fagioli were banned in 2023 for illegal betting on matches for ten and seven months, respectively. Di María and Paredes, who won the World Championship gold with Argentina in Qatar in winter 2022, played that season together with Fagioli in Juventus.
