14 Killed in Russian Missile and Drone Attacks on Kyiv

At least 14 people have been killed and many more injured in Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, reports the capital's military leadership. Several Ukrainian regions and cities were attacked during the night.

Over 40 people have been injured, of which more than 30 have been taken to hospital, according to Kyiv's mayor Vitalij Klytjko. Among the dead is an American citizen, he further states.

Explosions resounded in several of Kyiv's city districts in several rounds during the night, according to local authorities.

Two apartment buildings were damaged in the attacks, fires have broken out in several places and rescue personnel are still searching for people who may have been buried under rubble, according to the local authorities.

At least 13 people have been taken to hospital in the Odessa region in southern Ukraine, writes governor Oleh Kiper. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged in the attacks and people are feared to be lying in rubble.

Several explosions have also been heard in Zaporizjzja in southeastern Ukraine, according to the governor there. Also Tjernihiv in northeastern Ukraine has been attacked with cruise missiles, according to local authorities.
