Eight people have been killed and twelve injured in a Russian drone attack on the city of Sumy in northern Ukraine on Thursday night, according to Ukraine's state emergency service.
A ten-story apartment building was hit in the attack, with nine apartments damaged.
"This is a terrible tragedy, a terrible Russian crime. It is very important that the world does not pause in putting pressure on Russia for this terror," writes Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj in a social media post.
The Ukrainian air force reports that Moscow attacked with 81 drones. Ukraine's air defense allegedly shot down 37 of the drones in different regions, including in Sumy and near the capital Kyiv.
