At least four people have been killed in a Russian attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv early on Saturday morning, according to the city's military leadership. Three more people have been injured.
The explosions occurred after the Ukrainian air force warned of attacks with ballistic missiles and drones in several parts of the country.
Images from the impact site in Kyiv – a crossing in a densely populated area – show how the façade of a large multi-story building has been completely destroyed.
A main water pipe is also said to have been damaged in the attack. Windows of residential buildings have been blown out and an entrance to a subway station has been damaged, according to the state rescue service. The affected subway station, Lukjanivska, has been closed and trains are passing through without stopping.
