The police were alerted on Monday morning to an address on Östermalm in Stockholm after people, with weapon-like objects, were seen entering a stairwell.
An operation was initiated and at 11 o'clock the police stated that several people had been deprived of their liberty in the case.
We have deprived a couple of individuals of their liberty at the scene who are interesting based on the witness statements that have been received, says Rebecka Landberg who is a press spokesperson for the police.
The police operation was still ongoing and the police were searching through properties in the vicinity and nearby vehicles.
There is no information that anyone has been injured in connection with the operation. There is no danger to the public in the area.
A preliminary investigation regarding serious weapons offenses has been initiated.
