Muchová took the first set 6–2, but Coco Gauff, seventh in the world rankings, levelled the match after playing brilliantly in the second set, which she won convincingly 6–1.

The third and decisive set was a real thrill, but Karolína Muchová kept her composure, won 7–6 (12–10) and is now through to the women's singles final.

"It was a roller coaster ride to be completely honest. I'm shaky," says Muchová.

Saturday's final will be Muchová's second in a Grand Slam. In 2023, she lost to Poland's Iga Swiatek at the French Open. In the Wimbledon final, she will face compatriot Linda Nosková, who defeated Ukrainian Marta Kostjuk 2–0 in sets, 6–4, 6–4.

It will be a tough match but I haven't started thinking about that yet, I'll try to let this victory sink in. It's an indescribable feeling to be in the final, says Karolína Muchová.

Karolína is a really good player but above all a good person, I'm happy to meet her in the final, says Nosková.
