The Authority for Social Protection and Preparedness (MSB) has called for an extraordinary meeting after the cyberattack that struck several Swedish municipalities, reports SVT.

Authorities across the country are called to the meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

According to MSB's press service, the purpose of the meeting is to create a common picture of what has happened and how it has been affected.

The attack was directed at the system supplier Miljödata, which is being demanded money by extortionists. Sensitive personal data may have been leaked.

So far, approximately 250 customers of Miljödata have reported to the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten that they have been affected, including at least 164 municipalities and four regions.
