The Green Party (MP) is going into the election promising one billion kronor more per year in government support for civil society.
According to the party, associations and organizations constitute an important part of total defense and therefore need to be equipped.
Civil society is not a special interest, says MP's spokesperson Amanda Lind.
MP wants to use the extra billion kronor to increase support for more public meeting places and for student unions, among other things.
Many student unions are in crisis due to the Tidö government's cuts, says Lind.
MP also wants to provide an additional 33 million kronor through the Swedish Civil Defence Agency to non-profit organizations that work to strengthen individuals' knowledge of preparedness and crisis.
