The war in the Middle East shows how sensitive the world is to disruptions in oil supply. Lowering fuel taxes, as the government has proposed, is short-term petrol populism, MP believes.
"We must get rid of our dependence on fossil fuels, and then we need to work on several pieces of the puzzle," says MP spokesperson Amanda Lind.
Switching to electric cars is a priority, but it takes time to replace the entire vehicle fleet. That is why MP wants to significantly increase the production of domestic biofuels and biogas. By 2030, annual biogas production should increase to 10 TWh, which is a fivefold increase compared to this year.
