Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic have already been eliminated, but world number one Jannik Sinner looks all the stronger in the US Open tennis.
The crushing score of 6–1, 6–4, 6–2 against Christopher O'Connell, Australia, took Sinner further to the quarterfinals at Flushing Meadows in New York. The 23-year-old Italian did not have a single break ball against him and cleared the match in under two hours.
In the next match, Sinner will face the winner of the meeting between Gabriel Diallo, Canada-Tommy Paul, USA.
