"We can skip the press conference because the real story of the match is here," the Portuguese tells reporters while holding up printed pictures of first-half fouls he was unhappy with.

"There were two clear red cards," he continues.

Mourinho says referee Miguel Ángel Ortiz couldn't handle the pressure at Atlético Madrid's home stadium and blames the refereeing committee.

They appoint a referee who, at the age of 41, has never been an international referee, he says.

Instead, it was Real who had to play most of the second half with one man less after Dean Huijsen was sent off.

Real Madrid are fourth in the La Liga table on 15 points - six points behind unbeaten Barcelona.
