The car and motorcycle collided head-on on County Road 867 between Nygård and Lofta on Sunday. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police were alerted to the accident at 4:45 p.m.
Region Kalmar later announced that the motorcyclist is a man in his 70s. He was seriously injured in the accident and is being treated in intensive care.
According to police, a report of reckless driving has been filed. The motorcyclist is a suspect.
