Morten Vold admits driving drunk and seeks to resign as Norway's First Deputy Speaker

"I have had problems for a long time and made serious mistakes. Unfortunately, I have not addressed my problems in everyday life soon enough," he writes on Facebook, according to NTB, and continues:

I have an alcohol problem and need treatment to overcome it.

Morten Vold is now on sick leave and has notified the party's parliamentary leadership that he wants to resign from the position of First Deputy Speaker.
