During the day, police in Morocco used tear gas to disperse a group of people a few kilometres from the border, according to the Spanish news agency Efe. Several media outlets, including AFP, report that several people have been arrested or stopped in the border area with Ceuta.

A few weeks ago, more than 70,000 people crossed into Ceuta, drawing widespread attention around the world. Most were returned to Morocco in the following days.

At least 96 people died in the incident, according to Reuters.
