She has won World Championship gold twice and Olympic gold once.
But there will be no play in the Paris Olympics for American football star Alex Morgan.
The 34-year-old was not selected in national team captain Emma Hayes' squad for the summer games in France.
"I am disappointed not to have the opportunity to represent our country on the Olympic stage," she writes on X.
"This will always be a tournament that is close to my heart and I always feel enormous pride when I get to wear the jersey."
Morgan, with 123 goals in 224 international appearances, injured her foot in April and was out for a month. When she returned, she was later selected in the USA's squad for the friendly matches against South Korea earlier this month.
The USA begins its hunt for Olympic gold in the women's football tournament with a match against Zambia on 25 July.
The Olympics in Paris open on 26 July and conclude on 11 August.
