Möregårdh took a 1–0 lead in the first set before the 44th-ranked South Korean tied it at 1–1. The Swede then comfortably won the third and fourth sets and took the match 3–1.
Möregårdh next meets the 39th-ranked Indian Manav Thakkar at lunchtime on Wednesday.
